HUR KÄNNS DET ATT HA VÄRLDENS STARKASTE PAPPA?

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE THE STRONGEST DAD IN THE WORLD?

“There is something unwanted in our house. My sister thinks it has teeth. Pink and white candy-gum-teeth. Mum searches the kitchen sink linings, the carpet folds. Mum is sure it is residue. Something which has crumbled and escaped. Evasive, evasive she says with dustpan blues. My aunt says she cannot hear a thing when she comes to visit. Not in the walls. Not in the cracks. Not in the wind passing between the rooms. ”
— How does it feel to have the strongest dad in the world?

Leah and Amanda Soeiro Nentis are sisters who often work together on projects. One sister is the visual artist and the other the literary artist. For this project they worked around their shared grief over their father’s death and put together a series of poems and photographs about the visceral presence of grief in their lives. The permanence of this loss was explored by the fact that this project was made to be stored in the Swedish National Archives for all eternity. What does it mean to make art that is made to be archived? How is grief archived?
