The Agrafa Writing Course
Sign-up for a 6-month creative writing course that meets monthly in central Paris. In this course you will find guidance through a literary project (poetry, short stories, creative non-fiction, novels, essays, hybrid work), be pushed to experiment and challenge yourself in your writing practice and get feedback on work you hand in once a month. Here you can find the 5 key points regarding the course!
-
As part of this course, every attendee receives a monthly writing exercise tailored to their current needs, be this an exercise to help get things started, to clarify ideas, to more specific exercises around use of dialogue, pacing, or tension for instance. The exercises are meant to help you as a writer to let go of any barriers or pre-existing notions about your own practice that might be hindering you from resolving specific problems in your writing.
-
Once a month everyone from the course meets up for a generative writing workshop in which we will be looking at trends that come up across the works that have been submitted. We’ll be learning tools, literary theory and ways to discover new approaches to language and storytelling. These classes are occasions to experiment and bend the possibilities of what literature can be so as to open up space for true and innovative writing.
-
I firmly believe that we are only better writers when we are better people, and most importantly, when we listen to others. The Agrafa Review, which this course contributes to financially and intellectually, is about the coming together of people to share ideas and fight injustices in the world with our words and our actions. As part of this course we’ll be meeting regularly to grab a drink to discuss projects and literature and art we’ve experienced and want to share with others.
-
I believe that if you work hard on your writing, you should be able to share that writing with the world. People who attend this course will be published either on the Agrafa Review substack or directly in the magazine, depending on the content of the work submitted.
-
Every month you will send off a piece of writing you wish to get feedback on. You will then receive written feedback and annotations on your text with ideas about how the text can be improved: what is working well and what still needs some work as well as suggestions on how the ideas can be developed.
Meet Your Instructor
Leah Soeiro Nentis is a published writer with a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Kent. She has been a creative writing instructor since 2022, running weekly writing workshops for the association Paris Lit Up and since January 2026 she has started her own series of writing workshops called the Read Like a Writer Workshop where attendees learn how to adopt writing tools used by contemporary writers often in translation. Leah believes that to become a truly remarkable writer one has to let go of the canonical discourse around literature and embrace experimentation, weirdness and subversion in both linguistic and social spheres.
You can read more about Leah’s merits on the Home page.

The courses are open to writers who have already started to play around with writing in the creative sphere. That does not mean you have to have a significant body of work or been published. The course is aimed at writers who are willing to invest more in their writing careers and feel that they could benefit from some instruction, new ideas and a community to support them.

It’s always tricky fitting writing in to one’s professional life. This course will help you find writing goals that are feasible within your own schedule and help foster a durable writing practice that will hopefully open up time and headspace for whatever project you’re working on.
-
There are two options available: one class meets in central Paris once a month and the other class is a virtual class and meets on zoom once a month.

Absolutely. There are four price plans depending on your own means at the moment of inscription. Having myself been a struggling artist for far too long, I know how valuable writing classes can be and I want them to be as available as possible. Without funding this project depends entirely on contributions by people who are able to support us. 10% of all proceeds go to the Save Agrafa movement which you can read more about under the Agrafa Review page.
