Artist, Writer & Teacher

Leah Soeiro Nentis is a writer born in Sweden to Portuguese and Greek immigrants. Based in Paris since 2019 with her British husband, she is a writer, photographer, artist and teacher. She was the president of literary association Paris Lit Up from June 2023 - June 2025 and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine by the same name since 2020. She ran a weekly writing workshop in central Paris for four years and is the founder and organiser of the Read Like a Writer Workshops .

Leah Soeiro’s academic background is rather unorthodox as she was accepted for the University of Kent’s MA program in Creative Writing without holding an undergraduate degree. She graduated with Distinction in 2022 when she received the Penny Milnes Arthurs Prize for best performance on any taught postgraduate programme at Paris School of Arts and Culture. Her book of poetry and photography Twenty-twenty-twenty-twenty-one was published with Querencia Press in 2023. The collection addresses enforced intimacy, the tearing down and rebuilding of identity and the exploration of past and present trauma.

Her poetry has been performed in Padova for the poetry festival Iruzzioni, and has been published in Tint Journal, Feast, Sunbow zine, and Revue Version Original. Together with her sister she has self-published an art book, Não chore pela casa da avó, exploring Portuguese immigration in Gothenburg, Sweden. The book has been exhibited at Echomusée gallery in Paris, Litteraturhuset in Gothenburg and Galleri Tabac in Stockholm.

Leah Soeiro Nentis teaches children of ages 6-11 in theatre, creative writing, art and science. Her students have won the YAFF Prize for creative writing organised by the American Library in Paris in 2025 and 2026.
